Originally a California native, I now call Brooklyn, New York home. My background is in fine art and illustration, with a B.F.A. from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, Ca in 1992. When I moved to Manhattan in the early 90's, I found myself struggling, and temping. But temping has it's benefits, and from there I learned how to code HTML, and was then hired by a big technology company in 98. I remained with that company until 2006.

Actually, I've kind of lost track of when that ended, and life began again. Don't get me wrong, it was a great experience, and loads of people I worked with were terrific. But it was 9-8 in the early heydays, and then less so after 2001. But I survived the layoffs, and stayed on for another 5 years. When I worked there, I started as just a junior HTML coder, and worked my way up, quite fast to What they called Executive Producer, but what I like to think of as a senior web development manager. These were the days, and times when few understood titles appropriate to the web. Anyhow, a good experience, but it took me far from where I started. Art and Design.

So when that period ended, I decided, no more full-time companies and no more commuting. I wanted a one-on-one experience with a client. The ability to use both talents that I have, design and tech geek, and deliver great design, with great usability. My experience gave me insight into usability studies, and SEO optimization. I am able to apply that knowledge, with a well designed site, customized to the needs of the individual at an affordable price. Individuals, small companies, artists, can all benefit from a well designed site.
